Resident Evil 6 – PS4

The series' most action-heavy entry — Resident Evil 6 delivers four interconnected campaigns spanning multiple protagonists and playstyles.

Product Description

Resident Evil 6 was developed and published by Capcom, originally releasing in 2012 with later remastered/enhanced ports (including this PS4 release) following. It represents the series' furthest lean into pure action, moving decisively away from the slower survival-horror pacing of earlier entries toward set-piece-driven, cover-based third-person shooting.

The game features four separate but interwoven campaigns — following Leon S. Kennedy, Chris Redfield, Jake Muller (introduced in this entry), and Ada Wong — each with a distinct tone and gameplay emphasis, from Leon's more horror-focused segments to Chris's full military-action campaign. The story ties together a global bioterrorism crisis involving the C-virus, connecting characters and plotlines across the four campaigns in ways that reward playing multiple routes.

Critical reception at launch was mixed: while the scale and production values were praised, many reviewers and longtime fans felt the shift toward action over horror diluted what made earlier entries distinctive, and some criticized overly complex quick-time-event sequences and uneven pacing across the four campaigns.
