Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales – PS4

A standalone adventure starring a new hero — Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales delivers a shorter but polished follow-up to 2018's acclaimed Spider-Man.

Product Description

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales was developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, releasing in November 2020 as a launch-window title for PS5, with a simultaneous PS4 release. It's a standalone follow-up to 2018's Marvel's Spider-Man, sized as a shorter, more focused "expandalone" experience rather than a full mainline sequel, following Miles Morales as he takes up the Spider-Man mantle in a snow-covered New York City during the winter holidays.

The game reuses and refines the core traversal and combat systems established in the 2018 original — fluid web-swinging, acrobatic combat, and a semi-open-world Manhattan setting — while introducing Miles's own unique power set, including bioelectric "Venom" abilities and a camouflage/stealth power distinct from Peter Parker's toolkit in the prior game. Its story is more personal and community-focused in scope than the first game's broader city-wide threat, centering on Miles's growth into the role and his connection to his Harlem neighborhood.

Reception was very positive, with critics praising its technical polish (it was among the more visually impressive titles at the PS5 launch window while remaining well-optimized on PS4), satisfying refinements to combat and traversal, and a well-received, emotionally grounded story, while some noted its shorter length compared to the 2018 original given its "standalone expansion" scope and pricing.
