Alan Wake 2 – PS5

A critically adored psychological horror masterpiece — Alan Wake 2 delivers dual-perspective storytelling steeped in Remedy Entertainment's signature surreal atmosphere.

Product Description

Alan Wake 2 was developed and published by Remedy Entertainment (in publishing partnership with Epic Games Publishing for certain platforms), releasing in October 2023, thirteen years after the original 2010 Alan Wake. It follows two playable characters: Saga Anderson, an FBI agent investigating a series of ritualistic murders in the Pacific Northwest town of Bright Falls, and the returning Alan Wake himself, trapped in a nightmarish alternate dimension called the Dark Place, attempting to write his way to freedom.

The game is set within Remedy's broader shared "Remedyverse" universe (connecting narratively to Control and other Remedy titles), and blends survival horror combat and resource management with heavily live-action, FMV-style sequences and a genre-bending, meta-narrative structure reflecting Alan's own identity as a horror novelist. Its distinctive visual and narrative presentation — mixing traditional gameplay with cinematic live-action segments — was widely praised as a bold, ambitious approach rarely attempted at this scale.

Critical reception was extremely strong, with Alan Wake 2 winning numerous Game of the Year awards and nominations in 2023, frequently cited among the best horror games and best narrative-driven games of its release year, praised especially for its atmosphere, dual-character structure, and genre-bending presentation.
