Astro Bot – PS5

A joyous celebration of PlayStation history — Astro Bot won Game of the Year honors as one of the most acclaimed platformers of its generation.

Product Description

Astro Bot was developed by Team Asobi (Sony's in-house studio previously behind Astro's Playroom) and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, releasing in September 2024. It's a full retail sequel to the pack-in tech-demo Astro's Playroom, sending the small robot hero Astro across a galaxy of planets to rescue scattered robot crew members, all built specifically to showcase the PS5 DualSense controller's haptic feedback and adaptive trigger capabilities in inventive, moment-to-moment ways.

The game is stuffed with affectionate references and cameos spanning PlayStation's entire console history, from classic mascots to hardware-themed level gimmicks, delivering tight, inventive 3D platforming across dozens of varied, imaginative stages. Critical reception was extraordinary — the game won Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2024 alongside numerous other major industry awards, frequently cited as one of the best pure platformers released in years and a genuine system-seller for PS5 owners.
