HP OmniBook 5 AI 16" — Intel Core Ultra 5, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD

HP markets this configuration specifically as an "AI" laptop, and the label is genuinely earned — a real Intel Core Ultra 5 processor with its dedicated Neural Processing Unit, paired with 16GB RAM and a full 1TB SSD, on a spacious 16-inch display. This is a non-convertible, traditional clamshell design, built for buyers who want AI-accelerated performance and a large workspace without paying for 2-in-1 flexibility they won't use.

What "AI Laptop" Actually Means in Practice

HP's "AI" branding on this configuration isn't a marketing gimmick — it reflects the genuine hardware capability of the Core Ultra 5 processor's dedicated NPU, purpose-built to accelerate AI-powered tasks directly on the device rather than relying entirely on cloud processing. This means Windows 11's Copilot, live captions and translation, background blur and eye-contact correction in video calls, and other AI-powered features run noticeably faster and more responsively than on older-generation chips lacking this dedicated hardware.

Full Specifications

A Genuinely Spacious Workspace With Ample Storage

Unlike several Ultra 5 configurations elsewhere in our catalog that pair with more compact displays or 512GB storage, this OmniBook 5 AI combines its accessible Ultra 5 processor with a spacious 16-inch display and full 1TB storage — a genuinely well-rounded configuration for buyers who want comfortable screen real estate and generous storage without needing convertible flexibility.

Who This Laptop Is Genuinely Built For

Desk-based professionals and students who want a large, comfortable display for extended work sessions, without the added weight or cost of a convertible hinge.

Buyers who specifically want AI-accelerated features — Copilot, live translation, intelligent video call tools — at accessible Ultra 5 pricing.

Anyone who values storage headroom — 1TB is genuinely generous at this price point, comfortably covering documents, media, and a substantial application library.

Buyers who don't need touchscreen or tablet functionality and would rather put their budget toward display size and storage instead.

OmniBook 5 AI 16" vs the OmniBook X Flip (Ultra 5, 16GB/512GB)

Both share the identical Ultra 5 processor and 16GB RAM, but this OmniBook 5 AI trades convertible flexibility for a larger 16" display and double the storage (1TB vs 512GB), at a similar price point. Choose this configuration if screen size and storage matter more to you than touchscreen and tablet functionality; choose the X Flip if convertible flexibility is a genuine priority.

OmniBook 5 AI 16" vs the OmniBook 5 16" Ultra 9 (32GB/1TB)

Both are 16-inch, non-convertible OmniBook models — this Ultra 5 configuration sits at a considerably more accessible price point than the flagship Ultra 9 model, trading peak processing power and RAM (16GB vs 32GB) for genuine affordability. For buyers whose workload doesn't require the most extreme performance tier, this Ultra 5 configuration remains an excellent, well-rounded choice.
