Godfall – PS5

A visually striking looter-slasher — Godfall combines heavy melee combat with vibrant fantasy armor customization as a PS5 launch title.

Product Description

Godfall was developed by Counterplay Games and published by Gearbox Publishing, releasing as a PS5 launch title in November 2020. It's a melee-focused "looter-slasher," blending action-RPG loot progression with heavy, weighty combat centered around a variety of powerful, customizable armor sets called Valorplates, each granting distinct playstyles and abilities as you battle through a vividly colorful fantasy world.

As one of the earliest PS5 exclusives, it drew attention for its striking visual presentation and use of DualSense haptic feedback, though the base game launched with comparatively modest content depth for a full-price release; Gearbox later released a substantial "Ascended" edition and additional expansion content addressing some of the initial critical feedback around length and variety.

If you enjoy Godfall's heavy melee combat and armor-focused progression, you'll also want to try Diablo IV for another loot-driven action RPG with deep character-build customization; Nioh 2 for a more challenging, technically demanding melee-combat action RPG; and Outriders for another cooperative, ability-driven loot-shooter alternative.
