Transcend 2TB Portable Hard Drive

Genuine Transcend | Portable External Hard Drive (HDD) | 2TB

The Transcend StoreJet is a rugged portable hard drive built to survive knocks, with a three-stage shock protection system, for people who carry their data around. Available in Kenya from Mega Store Kenya as an authentic Transcend product, this page is for shoppers searching "Transcend 2TB external hard drive Kenya," "2TB portable hard drive Nairobi," "backup drive for laptop Kenya," or "cheap external storage Kenya."

Key specs at a glance

Figures come from Transcend's StoreJet 25M3 information and retailers. Transcend also sells the StoreJet 25H3 and 25A3, which differ slightly. Your supplier list gives only the brand and capacity, so ask our team to confirm the exact model, colour and warranty of the unit you order.

This is a hard drive, not an SSD

A portable hard drive (HDD) stores data on spinning disks. Compared with a portable SSD, it is slower and heavier, but gives you far more storage for the money. For backups, archives and large media libraries, that trade-off is worth it. For speed and toughness, see the SanDisk portable SSDs in our range.

Is 2TB the right size for you?

A 2TB drive suits a family photo and video library, a laptop backup with room to spare, or a modest film and music collection.

Who it's for

Photographers and videographers who travel.

Field and site teams backing up data.

Anyone backing up more than one device.

How it compares

Pick 2TB if 1TB feels tight and you don't need 4TB. The Toshiba, WD and Seagate drives in our range are non-rugged alternatives, usually at lower prices.

Looking after a hard drive

• Avoid moving or knocking it while it's reading or writing.
• Always eject it safely before unplugging.
• For important files, keep a second copy, because any drive can fail.

Frequently asked questions

Will it work with my laptop and TV? It works with computers that have a USB port. Many TVs can play media from external drives, but support varies. Tell us your model.

Is it as fast as an SSD? No. A hard drive is several times slower than a typical portable SSD.

Is it really shock-proof? It's shock-resistant, not shock-proof. Transcend says it passed a US military drop test, but any hard drive can be damaged by hard knocks, especially while running.

What warranty does it have? Transcend lists a three-year limited warranty. Ask us what applies to the unit you order.

Can I pay via M-Pesa? Yes.
