The Crew Motorfest – PS4

A festival-themed evolution of the open-world racing formula — The Crew Motorfest concentrates the series' scope into a denser, more curated Hawaiian setting.

Product Description

The Crew Motorfest was developed by Ivory Tower and published by Ubisoft, releasing in September 2023 as the third mainline entry in The Crew franchise. Rather than continuing to expand the series' already massive open-world scale, Motorfest takes a different approach, setting the game on a detailed recreation of the Hawaiian island of Oʻahu — smaller in raw landmass than The Crew 2's continental US map, but considerably denser and more richly detailed per square kilometer.

The game is structured around a series of curated "Playlists" — themed collections of races and challenges organized around specific automotive cultures, eras, or vehicle types (such as JDM culture, off-road, or vintage racing), offering a more guided, festival-like structure compared to the more open-ended progression systems of earlier Crew titles. It retains the series' signature multi-vehicle approach (cars, boats, and aircraft within a single explorable world) while aiming for tighter overall content curation and pacing.

Critical reception was generally positive, with reviewers praising the density and visual quality of the Oʻahu setting and the well-curated Playlist structure, viewed by many as a meaningful refinement over The Crew 2's broader-but-thinner approach, while retaining criticism common to the series regarding arcade-leaning physics for players wanting deeper simulation.
