What it's good at
The largest washer dryer in this range: a 12 kg wash drum for big families and bulky loads, with 8 kg of drying capacity so one machine does it all. A 15-minute quick wash and steam modes cover everyday and sensitive needs.
Is this the right size
A 12 kg wash drum suits large families of five or more. Remember the dry capacity (8 kg) is smaller than the wash capacity.
About washer dryers
A washer dryer washes and dries in one drum. The dry capacity is smaller than the wash capacity, so a full wash load usually needs to be split to dry. Many condenser dryers use water to cool and condense the steam, so a steady water supply matters. Drying also takes longer than a separate vented dryer, so it's best for everyday loads.
Front load vs top load
Front-load machines generally use less water and electricity than top loaders, and they're gentler on clothes. The trade-offs are that cycles often take longer, and you should wipe the door seal and leave the door ajar after use to prevent odours.
Before it arrives: installation checklist for Kenyan homes
- Water inlet and drain. You need a tap for the inlet hose and a drain point. Confirm the water pressure, and if your supply is irregular, use a water tank.
- A level floor. The machine must sit level to stay stable at high spin speeds.
- Remove the transit bolts. Front loaders ship with bolts on the back that must be removed before the first wash.
- A voltage guard or surge protector to protect the motor and electronics from power fluctuations.
- Space around it. Leave a few centimetres behind the machine for hoses and airflow, and allow room to open the door.
- Weight and access. Front loaders are heavy, typically 60 kg or more. Measure doors and stairs, and tell us about your access when you order.
