Lords of the Fallen – PS5

A dual-realm dark fantasy epic — this 2023 Lords of the Fallen reimagines the series with a vast, interconnected world spanning both the living and the dead.

Product Description

Lords of the Fallen (2023) was developed by Hexworks (a CI Games studio) and published by CI Games, releasing on PS5 in October 2023 as a full reimagining of the 2014 original, built on Unreal Engine 5. It follows a Dark Crusader tasked with defeating a fallen god, exploring an oppressive dark fantasy world that uniquely spans two interconnected realms — the living world of Axiom and the shadowy realm of the dead, Umbral — which players can transition between using a special lantern, opening up new paths and secrets.

The game delivers challenging, deliberate Soulslike combat with deep weapon and magic customization, alongside cooperative multiplayer allowing players to summon others across both realms. Reception was generally positive, particularly praised for the ambition and creativity of its dual-realm world design, with some criticism around technical performance issues at launch that were subsequently addressed through post-launch patches.
