Battlefield 2042 – PS5

Massive, near-future warfare — Battlefield 2042 brings dynamic weather, huge maps, and specialist-based squad combat to the series' modern-day evolution.

Product Description

Battlefield 2042 was developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts, releasing in November 2021. It shifts the series into a near-future setting, with maps supporting large player counts, dynamic weather events like tornadoes and sandstorms, and a roster of Specialists replacing traditional classes, alongside massive vehicle sandboxes and destructible environments.

Unlike traditional Battlefield entries, 2042 launched without a single-player campaign, focusing entirely on large-scale multiplayer combat. It received a mixed reception at launch, particularly around technical stability, balance, and the lack of a story mode, though EA and DICE committed to substantial post-launch support across several content seasons to address community feedback ahead of the franchise's subsequent entry, Battlefield 6.
