Resident Evil 7: Biohazard – PS4

A dramatic return to horror — Resident Evil 7: Biohazard reinvents the series in first-person, delivering some of its most genuinely frightening moments.

Product Description

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard was developed and published by Capcom, releasing in January 2017. Following the action-heavy reception of Resident Evil 6, this entry marked a deliberate pivot back toward tense, resource-scarce survival horror, switching the series to a first-person perspective for the first time in a mainline numbered entry and debuting Capcom's new RE Engine, which would go on to power the RE2, RE3, and RE4 remakes.

The story follows Ethan Winters, searching for his missing wife at a decaying plantation estate in rural Louisiana, inhabited by the deeply disturbing Baker family, who have been transformed by a mysterious mold-based infection. The claustrophobic, tightly designed mansion setting, combined with the intense, unpredictable Jack Baker as a recurring stalker threat, drew frequent comparisons to the franchise's earliest, most horror-focused entries, while the first-person perspective added a new level of visceral immediacy.

The game was very well received critically and commercially, widely credited with successfully revitalizing the series' horror identity, and it supports full PS VR play for an even more immersive (and for many players, considerably more frightening) experience.
