Saints Row: The Third Remastered – PS4

Over-the-top open-world chaos — Saints Row: The Third Remastered delivers absurd, comedic crime gameplay with enhanced visuals for modern hardware.

Product Description

Saints Row: The Third was originally developed by Volition and published by THQ, releasing in 2011 to strong commercial and critical success. A remastered edition, Saints Row: The Third Remastered, was developed by Sperasoft and published by Deep Silver, releasing in May 2020 with updated visuals, improved lighting, and enhanced character models built for current-generation hardware at the time.

The game follows the leader of the Third Street Saints gang as they battle a rival criminal syndicate, the Syndicate, for control of the fictional city of Steelport. Distinguishing itself sharply from more grounded open-world crime games like Grand Theft Auto, Saints Row: The Third leans fully into absurdist, self-aware comedy — missions and activities range from wielding a giant purple dildo bat as a weapon to piloting a tank through the city while dressed as a superhero, with deep character customization allowing wildly varied player-created protagonists.

Both the original and remastered versions were well received for their comedic tone and gleeful embrace of over-the-top spectacle, with the remaster specifically praised for successfully modernizing the visuals of a game whose absurdist charm had aged better than its original 2011 technical presentation.
