JBL Bar 500MK2 5.1 Channel Soundbar with Dolby Atmos

Genuine JBL | Home Theatre Soundbar | Dolby Atmos Support

The JBL Bar 500 MK2 brings JBL's home theatre soundbar technology to a more accessible price point than the flagship Bar 800 MK2, without giving up genuinely current features like Dolby Atmos support. Available in Kenya from Mega Store Kenya as an authentic JBL product, this page is for buyers searching "JBL Bar 500 MK2 Kenya," "soundbar with subwoofer Nairobi," "Dolby Atmos soundbar Kenya," or "JBL Bar 500 price."

Where the Bar 500 MK2 Sits in JBL's Soundbar Range

This model sits below the flagship Bar 800 MK2, also available from us, which uses detachable wireless rear speakers for true surround placement. The Bar 500 MK2 takes a more conventional soundbar approach, delivering genuinely strong front-facing sound with a wireless subwoofer, at a considerably more accessible price than the flagship model.

Dolby Atmos Support

As discussed in our Bar 800 MK2 coverage, Dolby Atmos adds a sense of height to surround sound, making effects feel like they come from above as well as around you, for content specifically mastered to take advantage of it. Having this support at the Bar 500's price point is a genuine step up over older or more basic soundbars that lack it entirely.

Wireless Subwoofer

The Bar 500 MK2 includes a wireless subwoofer, meaning the heavy bass unit itself connects to the main soundbar without a cable, letting you place it wherever it sounds best in your room, typically on the floor near your seating area, without worrying about cable length or routing.

A Genuine Upgrade From TV Speakers

As with any proper soundbar, the Bar 500 MK2 delivers considerably clearer dialogue and fuller sound than a television's built-in speakers, which are limited by the thin, slim design of modern TVs.

Who the JBL Bar 500 MK2 Is Right For

Buyers wanting Dolby Atmos support without paying flagship soundbar prices.

Anyone upgrading from basic TV speakers to noticeably better home theatre sound.

Buyers who want simpler setup than a full detachable surround system.

Bar 500 MK2 vs Bar 800 MK2

The Bar 800 MK2 adds detachable, battery-powered rear speakers for true surround placement flexibility. The Bar 500 MK2 is a more conventional, more affordable soundbar with a wireless subwoofer, still supporting Dolby Atmos.
