Sniper Elite 4 – PS4

A refined, expansive evolution of tactical sniping — Sniper Elite 4 delivers large, open mission levels across occupied Italy during World War II.

Product Description

Sniper Elite 4 was developed by Rebellion Developments and published by Rebellion (self-published), releasing in February 2017. It continues the story of OSS agent Karl Fairburne, moving the action to Italy during the country's WWII occupation, where he assists the Italian resistance against occupying forces while uncovering a threat tied to advanced German rocket technology.

Building substantially on Sniper Elite V2 and Sniper Elite 3, this entry introduced significantly larger, more open sandbox-style levels compared to earlier, more linear mission design, giving players greater freedom in route planning, vantage point selection, and approach — stealth infiltration, direct combat, or methodical long-range sniping are all viable strategies across most missions. The series' signature ballistics system and X-ray kill cam return with further refinements, and the game supports cooperative campaign play alongside competitive multiplayer modes.

Reception was strongly positive, widely regarded as a high point for the series, with critics praising the expanded, more open level design, the satisfying depth of its sniping mechanics, and its position as one of the most well-rounded tactical shooters focused on long-range combat.
