Demon's Souls – PS5

The game that started it all, fully reborn — this Demon's Souls remake rebuilds the FromSoftware original that launched the entire "Souls-like" genre, showcasing PS5's technical power.

Product Description

Demon's Souls (2020) was developed by Bluepoint Games (in collaboration with Japan Studio) and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, releasing as a PS5 launch title in November 2020. It's a full ground-up remake of FromSoftware's 2009 original — the game widely credited with establishing the punishing-but-fair combat philosophy and interconnected world design that would later define the Dark Souls series and the broader "Souls-like" genre it inspired.

Set in the cursed kingdom of Boletaria, the game tasks players with battling through five distinct, atmospheric world areas, each culminating in a formidable boss encounter, using deliberate, high-stakes combat that punishes carelessness while rewarding patient, tactical play. Bluepoint Games' remake was widely regarded as a technical showcase for PS5 hardware at launch, featuring dramatically enhanced visuals, near-instant loading via the console's SSD, and full DualSense haptic feedback support, while faithfully preserving the original's exact level design and mechanics.

Critical reception was outstanding, frequently cited as one of the best remakes ever produced and a genuine system-seller for early PS5 adopters, winning numerous "Best Remake" honors and helping demonstrate the console's technical capabilities at launch.
