Kena: Bridge of Spirits – PS5

A visually stunning spirit-guide adventure — Kena: Bridge of Spirits delivers charming, Pixar-quality storytelling wrapped in satisfying action-adventure gameplay.

Product Description

Kena: Bridge of Spirits was developed and published by Ember Lab (a studio previously known for animation and visual effects work), releasing as a PS5 launch-window title in September 2021. It follows Kena, a young spirit guide, as she helps restless spirits find peace in a forest corrupted by lingering negative emotion, aided by small, adorable creature companions called the Rot, who assist in both puzzle-solving and combat.

The game blends light action-adventure combat, environmental puzzle-solving, and progression-based Rot companion abilities, all wrapped in a strikingly polished, animated visual presentation that drew comparisons to high-end animated film production given Ember Lab's studio background. Critical reception was strongly positive, particularly praised for its visual quality, emotional storytelling, and the charm of its Rot companion mechanics, cementing it as a standout independent release for the PS5's launch window.
